The Nature and Psychology of Adolescent Sexual Aggression 

Course Description:

This introductory course concerns the dynamics and characteristics of adolescents who sexually aggress against younger children and similarly aged peers. Through lecture, group discussion, and written work, participants will be introduced to characteristics of normal vs. deviant sexual behavior, typical modes of sexual offending in adolescence, and current theoretical and empirical understanding of the causes and treatment of such behavior.  

Course Learning Objectives:

Participants will learn to:
(1) Distinguish between different types of adolescent sexually aggressive behaviors 
(2) Understand the dynamics of sex aggression committed by  adolescents
(3) Analyze similarities and differences between sexually aggressive adolescent males and females
