QPR for Suicide Prevention

Course Description:
QPR (Question, Persuade and Refer) Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention is an evidence-based program that teaches people how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. It is an action plan that can result in lives saved. This course will provide information on suicide and what it looks like in CT. Goals of QPR training include raise awareness, dispel myths and misconceptions and learn warning signs and what to do. All participants receive a QPR booklet and resources.

Course Learning Objectives:
Review myths and facts of suicide
Recognize the warning signs of suicide 
How to Question, Persuade and Refer someone who may be suicidal
How to offer hope 
How to get help for someone in crisis


Target Audience: General-open to all programs Please arrive on time, as this training will start promptly at 9 AM. Once the training begins, late arrivals will not be admitted. The expectation is that attendees will participate for the full duration of the training with their video/cameras on to be seen throughout the training.
