Training Material: Yoga mat or towel, comfortable clothes & a chair are required. Also a requirement is being able to use your camera on your device during the training.
This workshop takes a holistic, self-care approach to managing stress. It explores personal and work stress, work life balance and compassion fatigue. Participants will learn about the connection between our experiences and behavior upon our minds and bodies. Participants will learn to use the increased self awareness and knowledge to develop healthy coping skills to manage the impact of working with chronic and challenging populations. Topics includes information on nutrition and stress reduction techniques that can be repeated at home or short breaks in their work environment. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga or exercise mat.
Course Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to distinguish and define the different types of stress and the benefits/costs on the body, spirit and functioning.
Participants will explore and identify personally how stress is impacting their lives.
Participants will learn the importance of mind/body connection in stress. They will explore their own irrational thinking and expectations, and the impact on themselves, energy, motivation, feeling of power and life satisfaction.
Participants will learn techniques for managing stress including cognitive and relaxation methods.
